This is My Husband John

John served 26 years in the Canadian Armed Forces before leaving the Army in 1996.  I met and married him in Petawawa Ontario. His 3 main postings during his stint in the military were in Petawawa, Ontario, Camp Gagetown New Brunswick and Kingston Ontario.  He was armored corps early in his military  and was one of the last recovery drivers for the old Centurion tank.  Later he transferred to the Supplies branch of the military.  He retired as a supply Sargeant.

John had shorter postings and exercises in the north at Resolute Bay, in Germany and a six month posting to Ismalia Egypt in 1974.  It was during his time there that our friend Mike Simpson was killed when the plane he was on was short down by a Syrian missile. See memorial Michael on My Mind  It was when John was serving in Egypt that I gave birth to our only child, son Jamie.  Daddy did not see him until he was 7.5 weeks old.

After retiring from  the military, John joined the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires.  Currently he is head of the security detachment at Fort Frontenac in Kingston Ontario.

John likes to hunt, fish, refinish furniture  and like me he enjoys occasionally trying his luck at the local casino.
